Do you have Muslim friends that fast during the Holy month of Ramadan?
Are you embarrassed to ask the classic "not even water" question?
That's ok, that is why I am here. No need to feel shy, I am sure I will cover your questions and enrich your knowledge about Ramadan and such related affairs.
I remember that when I first started fasting, I did so because I wanted to feel included. My parents would fast and I thought that I should too, but I actually never really knew why until I did research after being asked multiple questions by my friends (who were by the way, very accepting, something that pleasently surprised me).
For starters, Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calander. Ramadan begins on Tuesday, May 15th, this year.
I do know that Ramadan will be a little tougher this year as the fasting hours are long.
It is really during this time of year that we probably save the most money and realize that all our money gets spent on food.
I encourage you to explore this site and finally understand the 1.8 billion Muslims in the world. Perhaps you will learn a little more about your neighbor. There is an array of facts about the holy month and about the nation of Islam. I have also included the day in the life of a fasting Muslim, the multiple foods, the final celebratio of Eid Al Adha, and of course references.
